Zopa loans FAQs

What is a “soft search”?

This is a common system most UK-based lenders, including Zopa, follow when providing loan quotes. When they pull up your credit file, this leaves no impact on your score. Furthermore, only the bank providing the quote can see the results of the credit search. Meanwhile, for formal applications, the credit search does leave an impact on your score. This is also where other lenders can see the results of the credit search.

What is a “fixed” APR?

A fixed APR will never change throughout your loan term. This means your monthly payment will never change, too.

Will I get the current APR from Zopa?

There is a great chance you will get it, like most Zopa customers. However, your APR may also differ based on other factors. These include your loan amount, your loan term, and your financial circumstances.

Does Zopa offer joint loans?

No. Applicants cannot apply for joint loans with Zopa at this time.

Will Zopa allow me to top up on my loan?

Yes, you can. As long as your Zopa loan is still under £25,000, you can borrow more. You’ll need to wait at least 6 months after your last Zopa application, though.
